Egypt offers foreign investors an opportunity to obtain citizenship through its government investment program.

The program may appeal to entrepreneurs, property investors, and families seeking a second citizenship and the opportunity to establish a long-term presence in another country.

Benefits of Egyptian Citizenship

Multiple investment options. Applicants can choose between a government contribution, real estate investment, business investment, or bank deposit.

The right to live and conduct business in Egypt. Once citizenship is granted, investors acquire the rights available to Egyptian nationals under local law.

Family eligibility. The program allows certain close family members to obtain status. Different conditions apply to spouses and children.

Business opportunities. Egypt offers investment and special economic zones with specific regulatory and tax arrangements for qualifying businesses.

Investment Options

The program provides four main investment routes.

1. Non-Refundable Government Contribution — From $250,000

The applicant makes a non-refundable contribution to the Egyptian government.

2. Real Estate Investment — From $300,000

The investor purchases qualifying real estate. Specific conditions apply to the ownership and disposal of the property following citizenship acquisition.

4. Bank Deposit — From $500,000

The investor places funds in an Egyptian bank for three years.

At the end of the holding period, the deposit is returned in Egyptian pounds without interest, subject to the applicable program conditions.

An additional government application fee of $10,000 and other documentation expenses apply.
