New BOI Investment Targets

The Board of Investment Thailand has set new targets to attract investments totaling 550 billion Baht this year, compared to 450 billion Baht in the previous year.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, the BOI needs to improve and accelerate its internal processes—both domestically and in its overseas offices—to attract new investments, particularly from Asia.

Thailand offers favorable conditions for investors, as the government has launched a number of initiatives aimed at promoting and stimulating investment through the BOI, demonstrating strong commitment to attracting and supporting foreign investment.

The BOI currently operates 14 overseas offices located in Beijing, Frankfurt, Guangzhou, Los Angeles, Mumbai, New York, Osaka, Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, Stockholm, Sydney, Taipei, and Tokyo.

Secretary-General Hiranya Suchinai reported that the BOI plans to hold 17 international events in the second half of the year to attract new investors.

Statistics:
During the first seven months of the year, 853 applications for new projects were submitted, with a total investment value of 320 billion Baht—an increase of 218% compared to the same period last year.
