In December 2019, the Ministry of Interior announced changes to the implementation timeline of the Land and Building Tax Act. Government agencies did not have sufficient time to prepare for the enforcement of the law and the collection of the new tax.
Tax payments will begin in August 2020.
By the end of March 2020, taxpayers must receive information about the properties that are subject to taxation.
By the end of May 2020, the assessed value of real estate properties, as well as tax rates, must be finalized.
Tax assessment notices indicating the amount of tax due and payment deadlines must be sent to taxpayers by the end of June 2020.
