Over time, company registration documents in Thailand may become outdated for certain legal and administrative procedures, even if they formally remain valid. In such cases, official updates with the Department of Business Development (DBD) are required.
When are updated documents required?
You may be asked to provide documents issued no more than 1, 3, or 6 months ago in the following situations:
- Opening or closing a bank account
- Obtaining licenses (tourism, trading, FDA, etc.)
- Applying for visas and work permits
- Registering sale and purchase or lease transactions with the Land Department
The “age” of documents is calculated from:
- the date of company registration,
- the last update,
- or the latest amendments to corporate records.
Why update documents in advance?
An updated set of documents will:
- save Your time when submitting applications and requests
- prevent rejections due to outdated information
- simplify interaction with banks, government authorities, and counterparties
