Termination of employment may occur for various reasons:
- By mutual agreement of both parties
- At the initiative of the employee
- At the initiative of the employer — with or without employee misconduct
If the termination is initiated by the employer and the employee has not violated the terms of the employment contract, the employer is required to pay severance. The amount of severance depends on the length of time the employee has worked for the company.
Length of employment with the company before termination — Severance pay:
20 years and more — 400 days’ salary
Less than 120 days — No severance pay
120 days – 1 year — 30 days’ salary
1 – 3 years — 90 days’ salary
3 – 6 years — 180 days’ salary
6 – 10 years — 240 days’ salary
10 – 20 years — 300 days’ salary
The employee must be notified of termination in writing before the salary payment date, and the termination date must not be earlier than the next salary date — i.e., at least 30 days in advance.
